It's the little things that have an impact on success. Sometimes even tiny ones: the smallest particles. It is precisely these that are reliably filtered out of your tap water by Grünbeck water filters. What remains is pure water and a good feeling. Some of your devices can also benefit from Grünbeck water filters. For example, drinking water heaters and shower heads. They last much longer without scaling and run more efficiently at the same time. Given that fine filters and backwash filters have very different advantages, Grünbeck offers you both variants as well as a highly flexible filter series that can be easily retrofitted.

If you like to drink a lot of tap water, you don't have to worry about its quality. Drinking water is provided to us in perfect condition by the water supplier, usually the municipal waterworks. Therefore, a Grünbeck water filter should be seen far more as a technical prerequisite for fulfilling the requirements of the TrinkwV (= German Drinking Water Ordinance) ).

However, on the way from the waterworks to our house, small solid particles such as rust particles from old pipes or grains of sand can be swept into the water. These small particles can lead to pitting and corrosion damage in the installation or cause malfunctions in drinking water heaters. Over time, shower heads or aerators can become clogged, or the particles can compromise the function of fittings. Our Grünbeck engineers have therefore developed optimal solutions to prevent functional faults as far as possible. Filters are the first step in water treatment, followed by water softeners.

Grünbeck drinking water filters are designed according to European and national DIN standards:

• European Basic Standard: Technical Rules for Potable Water Installations DIN EN 806-2, Annex B.4: „…"...The filters according to EN 13443-1 should be used at the start of the installation inside buildings. ...Solid particles such as rust particles or sand grains swept into the drinking water system must be prevented. These particles can interfere with the proper functioning of appliances, such as drinking water heaters, shower heads etc. and lead to corrosion damage due to pitting within the system. …“
• Supplementary National Standard: Specifications for installations inside buildings (TRWI) DIN EN 1988-200, 12.1: “…Issues relating to the treatment of drinking water are covered by DIN EN 806-2, Annex B (informative). If they are also mentioned in this section, they are granted the status of normative references in conjunction with additional requirements stipulated in this standard."

Water filters at the start of the installation inside buildings prevent pollutants from entering the domestic water system. The domestic water filter filters out small solid particles (80 - 150 µm DIN EN 13443-1), such as rust and sand. Hormones and medicine residues, however, cannot be filtered out of the water.

• Dirt: According to DIN 1988, water filters are stipulated for drinking water systems. This prevents suspended matter from being swept in. Dirt can get into the tap water due to construction work or damage to the drinking water supply.
• Rust: Rust particles can naturally get into the drinking water and cause rust to form in the pipes and lines. Grünbeck water filters prevent this entry to ensure that such deposits and corrosion do not occur in the first place.
• Scale: Calcium and magnesium are reduced by water softeners. Such systems are also called decalcification systems.

Important: The time for filter installation is according to DIN EN 806-4, 6.1.1 "...The hot or cold water installation may only be filled with drinking water that does not contain particles ≥ 150 µm (e.g. removed by mechanically acting filters according to EN 13443-1). …”
